What an unforgettable day! Despite the rain bringing the evening to a close, this year’s Korea Town Street Festival was a massive success, drawing an estimated 50,000 attendees to Bloor Street for a full day of cultural celebration, food, music, and community spirit.
A huge thank you to our incredible sponsors – The City of Toronto, BizPop Sign & Print, and BMO Mervish Village Branch – for helping make this event possible.
Festival Highlights:
• Jihyun Back’s stunning traditional dance performances captivated audiences throughout the day.
• Our Kimchi Making Demo was a crowd favourite, with volunteers joining Unja Baek and Jason Lee on stage to learn how to make Korea’s most iconic dish.
• Dream Makers Canada, a high-energy KPOP dance group, made their festival debut and had the crowd dancing along from start to finish.
• We closed out the day with Haneum, whose beautiful traditional jazz fusion
performance carried on through the rain.
Festivalgoers huddled under a canopy of umbrellas, unde
terred and unified in celebration — a powerful symbol of community connection and cultural pride.
The Korea Town Street Festival is about honouring the cultural roots of the Korean community who built Korea Town, while celebrating the vibrant, diverse neighbourhood it is today.
A special thank you to our Korea Town BIA member businesses, who helped make the festival one of the busiest and most exciting days of the year. From sending volunteers, to running in-store specials and activations, to simply celebrating with us — your support and spirit are what make this community so special.
We’re already looking forward to next year. Until then, thank you for celebrating with us.
